"Buildings of Chicago" I decided to do this abstract painting to remind myself of my Chicago trip that I went on in September of 2018. I always thought that the buildings in Chicago were unique because they are so antique and aged. Even though this is my first watercolor, I believe that I did the best that I could. My favorite part about this painting is the larger gray/blue that has the most detail. The tint in the windows really have a cartoon effect to them as well. I also believe on the red building to the left I used a good contrast between the red orange and blue. I'm glad that I painted this painting because it keeps hold of the memories from my trip with my family.

"Mountains in Washington"  I decided on this painting as I was driving down the road, knowing I could not let my artistic block get the best of me. No, I do not live in Washington, but I wanted a little more inspiration than just the everyday mountains I see cruising down the roads of Virginia. My favorite type of painting to paint would most definitely be landscapes. More importantly, the sky because you can add so many different colors and values to them. What I really love about my painting is that the clouds are original and I really made them my own, almost in an abstract type of way. My painting also includes more values than I have ever included in a painting of my own. Though, a reflection is a more difficult type of painting, this has to be my best work in my opinion.
